Finally Pathfinder

I finally saw the movie Pathfinder and I must agree with other reviewers when I say that it was not so great. :( Karl Urban did look rather hot but he did not have much dialouge and what he did have was rather lame. It is a shame because the story could have been good if it were executed better but even then some things did not make sense…like how a small boy raised by Indians knows how to sword fight like the best of his Viking bloodline. It was also a stretch that he remembered details of his Viking homeland that would be helpful in battle and he remembered their language that he hadn’t spoken in in many years. The most irritaing thing was how he kept walking around in a sarong wading through water in one scene and then walking through snow in another. Talk about unrealistic. At the very least the movie should have explored the romance angle a bit more. It isn’t likely I will be watching this one again. :(

Okay this is also yet another BAD review for Pathfinder but I still need to make up my own mind I tell ya! I still think Karl Urban is worth the price of admission. :)

Anyway here is a tidbit: “Eomer, you wound me baby. I love you and you wound me bad. But I still love you. I had to immediately watch LOTR again to help me forget this sacrilege you made me watch but I forgive you. Because our love babe, its forever. I would always love you.”

Pathfinder Review

Okay so early reviews are not so great but Karl is worth the price of admission!

Here is a review we found:

Karl Urban….remember him? The dude in LOTR : 2 Towers which insulted a dwarf. Ok so…not all of us watched the movie or is an avid fan. But LOTR Trilogy was really good. Pathfinder? Hmmm….. The tag line goes “Two Worlds, One War. The Ultimate Battle Begins.” And it is a battle alright….a battle in my mind with the nagging question “Why have a movie with Red Indians and Vikings?”. That does not make sense….unless I might have missed something in my lifetime thus far.

Really…I don’t really have anything good to say about it. It’s practically a blind no holds barred slasher movie of Red Indians and Vikings. Which again like I have mentioned….where is the sense in that? Need a rating? Half a star…bad cast…no story…effects are only just so.

My problem with the review above is that this person (who is in Malaysia) obviously does not know much about the history of the the Americas and that evidence of visitation by nordic people has been proven so a fight between Vikings and Indians could have been possible.

Pathfinder with Karl Urban

January 17, 2007 - With the release for director Marcus Nispel’s new adventure film Pathfinder only a few months away, IGN Movies has scored a quartet of cool new images from the 20th Century Fox film.

The images show Lord of the Rings veteran Karl Urban in action as Ghost — a Viking boy left behind after a raid on the “New World.” He is raised by Native Americans and given the name Ghost.

Years later, the Dragon Men (a.k.a. Vikings), led by Gunnar (Highlander’s Clancy Brown), arrive onshore again looking to enslave the natives and conquer their lands. Ghost only has the spirit of his ancestors to guide him in battle against the invaders who are armed with a new technology called steel.
